Gain hands-on work experience with Pendleton Together

Six work placements are now available to be filled at Pendleton Together, although time is running out to apply.

Offered as part of the Salford Futures programme, we have vacancies in caretaking, ground maintenance, office administration and construction.

Each successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain eight weeks of practical experience on a voluntary basis for up to a maximum of 30 hours per week, normally over four days.

The vacancies are open to Salford residents who are 16 years or over and either unemployed and/or NEET.

John Jordan, Pendleton Together’s Employment and Skills Co-ordinator, commented:

“Salford Futures is a first class scheme delivered by a range of partners across the city including Salford City Council and Pendleton Together.

“Three of the placements– two in caretaking and one in ground maintenance - involve working with our in-house teams.  The office administrator post is with Salford Credit Union, which is co-located with Pendleton Together in Brotherton House. The two construction vacancies have been created in partnership with our colleagues at Keepmoat Regeneration, Keepmoat Homes and Salix Homes.

“Each placement will give a Salford resident the chance to gain valuable workplace experience, learn new skills, develop a work history and earn a reference. So far, eight of the 12 participants who completed placements in July through Salford Futures have secured employment.”

If you fulfil the criteria and want to put yourself forward to fill one of the vacancies, you should email John at or give him a call on Tel: 07974 753497 no later than Friday 6 October.
