A Bed Every Night
Nobody should sleep rough, especially in winter. A Bed Every Night is a project pledging to give every person who is sleeping rough in Greater Manchester a warm bed, home comforts and support every night this winter.
Pendleton Together are working with other Greater Manchester housing providers to ensure that every rough sleeper has a bed for the night during the cold.
So far, staff at Pendleton Together have raised £158 by taking part in dress down Fridays, ending on Friday 14th December with Christmas jumper day.
As well as money raised by staff, we are asking our residents to help us pack and deliver boxes to a local homeless charity. If you’d like to get involved, you can support us by donating items, or donating your time by helping to pack items.
If you would like to donate some items, we are looking for essential items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shower gel, socks and gloves. Items can be dropped off at Brotherton House until 19th December.
We’re also looking for volunteers to join us on Wednesday 19th December in Brotherton House Respite Room from 10am to show your support by generously donating your time and helping to package the donations and write cards.
We will have mince pies and a brew waiting for residents who can give some of their time to support homeless people this winter.
Lynne Harrison, Community Initiatives Officer, said: “I am incredibly proud of the local community and staff at Pendleton Together who have collected a significant amount for this humanitarian project. We’d like to thank everybody for their ongoing support with this project, we hope to see you on Wednesday 19th December.”
