Celebration of international culture comes to Salford for Black History Month

Salford residents are invited to a celebration of international culture this Saturday (20th October) at Emmanuel Church.

The free event, known as Vive, is being sponsored by Pendleton Together as part of Black History Month.

Highlights include a drama group performing a Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) themed Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans (LBGT) play and an Ethiopian coffee ceremony.

Tahir Idris, Together Housing Group’s Equality and Diversity Manager, said: “Salford is a diverse city, welcoming people from all walks of life. Black History Month recognises the contributions of those from African and Caribbean descent and Vive is a chance to celebrate the Salford’s rich history through music, dance, drama and food.”

The event is being held from 1pm to 4pm at Emmanuel Church, 174 Langworthy Road, Salford, M6 5PN.
