Community Week of Action

We have teamed up with Salford City Council, Greater Manchester Police, Salford Youth Service, Salix Homes and The Guinness Partnership in a bid to tackle anti-social behaviour around Halloween and Bonfire Night.

With our partners, we have organised a week of action at the Broadwalk in Salford, which will include tenancy visits and police patrols as well as a series of classes, clubs and courses.

Lynne Harrison, Community Initiatives Officer, Pendleton Together: “Halloween and Bonfire Night is a time of fun and excitement but it is also a potentially hazardous period and what can be a bit of mischief for some, may be perceived as anti-social behaviour by others.

“We want everyone to enjoy the celebrations but it's important to remember that some people can find the unexpected knocks on doors and loud bangs scary and intimidating, especially some of the older members of our community.

“We are working with other housing associations, the local authority and the blue light services to ensure everybody stays safe and well without ruining anybody’s fun.”

Councillor David Lancaster, lead member for environment and community safety, said: “This week of action builds on the last one we held in August and will continue long after Halloween and Bonfire Night. It’s all about everyone pulling together to report anti-social behaviour and crime so all the partners can work together to tackle it and make Pendleton an even better place to live and work.”
