English for All

Pendleton together hosted an eight week ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) course to support a number of learners improve their English Language skills, while also learning about citizenship, volunteering and how to find employment opportunities.

Eight learners completed the course, which was run by Wai Yin Society and Salford City College, and included a visit to the library as well as sessions with a volunteer advisor, career advisor and housing officer.

Susan Crabb, ETE Project Worker at Wai Yin Society, said the course had proved popular and the Society were considering putting on more.
