Fit Fun at the Outdoor Gym
Pendleton Together residents are being offered the chance to try out healthy activities, following the success of a popular activity group.
Nine residents from Holm and Plane Court took part in the Health Improvement Service organised group, which started with simple chair based exercises but resulted in the participants, most of whom were aged over 70, using the outdoor gyms during weekly activity sessions
Now all residents of Beech, Holm, Plane, Thorn and Spruce Courts as well as some other nearby blocks will be offered the chance to try some of the activities for themselves on Thursday, 12th October, 2017 at an event taking place at Beech Court community room between 12noon and 3pm.
The free event, which will also feature a buffet lunch, will see tasters in armchair exercises and indoor kurling alongside more traditional games like bingo and a raffle. Salford Council’s Health Improvement Service, who are organising the event, hope it will lead to further activity groups and sessions.
