Imperial War Museum exhibition to be displayed in Pendleton Gateway
An exhibition created by the Imperial War Museum, in collaboration with Future Everything, will be displayed for the first time outside of a museum in Pendleton Gateway.
The Imperial War Museum is a group of five museums that aim to showcase the experience of every day life during war and the impact it has on people’s lives. For the first time the display will be shown outside of a museum and will be hosted by Salford City Council and volunteers from Pendleton Together.
Yemen: Inside a Crisis, is an exhibition which will explore how fighting has impacted the country’s economy as well as Britain’s relationship with Yemen throughout time. The display includes Yemen: Say hello to connect which gives visitors a unique experience of a voice activated piece of artwork that includes narration by celebrated spoken word artist Amerah Saleh. The exhibition will be displayed at Pendleton Gateway Library from Monday 20th January to Sunday 26th January 2020.
Lynne Harrison, Community Initiatives Officer, said: “this is a great opportunity for our volunteers to be involved in and a chance for the local community to find out more about the current humanitarian crisis in Yemen."
