A Gateway to a digital future
Salfordians got put through their digital paces at a Tea and Tech party at the Pendleton Gateway recently.
One of a number of events planned for around the city, people who want to get more out of their digital life are encouraged to attend and get tips from their neighbours.
It includes safe surfing, online tips to save money and where to get free Wi-Fi.
One attendee was Darren Young, who was keen to brush up on his IT skills as he’s taking part in Salford Futures work placement, which has helped several people into employment.
Another attendee was Tonie Whiteley and her son Josh. Tonie has used the web to research dementia, as several members of her family live with the condition, and is aiming to join our Digital Friends programme to help spread her knowledge of the internet as well as raising awareness for dementia.
The sessions are run by Together Housing Group, Salix Homes, City West, Community Insight and Salford Council.
