Tenants and staff call out homophobic abuse for IDAHOBIT

Volunteers joined staff on May 17th at Brotherton House to mark The International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) and call out all abuse towards people based on their sexual or gender preferences.

Created in 2004 to mark the day in 1990 when the WHO declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder, it draws attention to the violence and discrimination experienced by lesbian, gay, bisexuals, transgender, intersex people and all other people with diverse sexual orientations, gender identities or expressions, and sex characteristics.

Tenant Kevin decorated the reception and left countless rainbow flags outside Brotherton House for people to take.
