Brotherton rings to the sound of music

phil1

Debussy, Star Wars and Burt Bacharach were on the agenda as the BBC Philharmonic played a special performance at Brotherton House.

VIPs from various tenants groups and others were invited for the special hour-long performance as part of the orchestra’s community tour.

The 14-piece orchestra played a number of specially-adapted pieces by Double Bassist Dan Whibley, including a rendition of the Teddy Bear’s Picnic, which were a huge hit with the guest audience, who enjoyed afternoon tea to finish the afternoon.

Tenant Edna Crowsall said: “It was great way of being able to break up the afternoon, have great food, listen to great music and have it here, in the community.  They were fantastic.”
