Improve your job prospects at innovative drop-in event
Pendleton Together is holding an exciting new type of drop-in event later this month to help customers improve their job prospects, develop new skills and find their best route into work.
Held in the Spruce Court Community Room on Tuesday 26 September from 1-4pm, Pendleton Together employment and skills experts will be joined by representatives from three external agencies.
They include the National Careers Service, which can provide expert advice on improving your CV as well as guidance to help you make decisions on learning, training and work.
Alongside them will be Salford Skills for Employment which specialises in providing training and work placements and getting you into a job.
And Salford Health Works, an integrated service that offers health and wellbeing support to individuals as a means of creating a path into employment.
A number of job vacancies will also available on the day through the Council-funded Salford Employment and Recruitment City Hub, also known as SEARCH.
John Jordan, Pendleton Together’s Employment and Skills Co-ordinator, said:
“We are really excited by the level of expertise that will be present and, if it is a success, we will hold follow-up events in other community rooms.
“The first gathering is targeted at residents of Spruce Court and Thorn Court but is open to all tenants, who can simply turn up and ring the bell if they want to get involved.
“I hope there will be a very large turnout with lots of positive outcomes, and then we will do it in other venues across our area.”
