Scan Zones are new, easy to use self-service document scanners that are located in all Gateways within Salford, including Pendleton Gateway.
Scan Zones are integrated in to the council’s back office system, which makes them a speedy way of completing a range of services such as housing benefit and council tax reductions. You will no longer need to wait to see an advisor to scan support evidence (e.g. Id such as passport and utility bill) or application forms relating to the following council services:
- Housing benefit
- Council tax
- Blue badges
- Discretionary Housing Payment
- School admissions
- Salford Assist
- Housing options with Salford Home Search
You will now be able to self-scan your documents using the touch screen tablet devices, these are placed inside pods to ensure your privacy. Staff will still be available for those who need assistance.
The scanners will take a clear quality photo of each document submitted and index it to a back office system where it is automatically uploaded. You can easily delete or change the order of your documents and receive a summary page of which information you have submitted.
